Today for our “2023 MACo Edition” of Conversations with HJM, we are featuring Eric Luedtke, who currently serves as Chief Legislative Officer to Maryland Governor Wes Moore. He shares insight on his transition from a legislator to his current position and discusses the legislative priorities of the administration.
Prior to joining the Moore-Miller administration, Eric Luedtke was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates, where over three terms he was one of the legislature’s leaders on education, economic development, and environmental policy, representing District 14 in Montgomery County and serving as a member of the Ways and Means Committee, and as Chair of the Revenues Subcommittee.
In 2019, he was selected by Speaker Adrienne Jones to serve as House Majority Leader to help lead Democrats in the House of Delegates. In addition to his legislative service, Eric taught in the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland where he was an adjunct professor for four years, and became an associate clinical professor.
